A Haunted Place

The night before we visited the Saint Augustine Lighthouse, completely by chance, we saw a TV show about it being haunted. The boys got a little freaked out about it, especially Liam. But they pulled it together with their testimonies that when you die your spirit leaves your body, spirits are ghosts. The boys climbed all the way to the top - no ghosts!

Living History

A subway

Our D.C. trip in March of 2007 we used primarily the subway to get around.
This is where the Super Mom Story comes from. We were switching trains and Liam got on the subway just as the doors closed. In the movies they make it look so hard and impossible to get the doors open. It didn't seem that hard to me. Call it super-Mom power, but that train was not leaving with my six year old on it. I not only got the doors open but everyone in our group was able to get on.

88. Airplane hanger or museum

Our D.C. trip in March of 2007 we visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

91. school that is different than yours

This is the oldest school house in the United States, it is in Saint Augustine, Florida. We visited it January 2008. We got to see what school was like way back when. We learned that the school teacher lived upstairs in the school, that the misbehaving students were sent to the dungeon under the stairs, that the Dunce cap was for the slowest child in the class not the trouble maker and the kitchen for the school was an outside seperate building and was not for making school lunch but for the teacher to cook in for personal meals.

That's not much like our school at all!
